It wasn’t the dream start City were hoping for, as Kian McMahon Brown struck the ball sweetly into the top corner against the run of play, leaving Max Hudson no chance of getting a hand to it.
It led to a frustrating second half for Oliver Reiss’ side as we had a number of chances to claw a goal back, but were unable to find a way past Burnley’s solid defence.
match report | burnley 2-2 city
A difficult afternoon was briefly overturned by Teddie Lamb, who has been in fantastic scoring form this season.
Karim Cassim followed up with an outrageous effort which soared into the top corner from range and it looked like City had staged the perfect comeback.
However, Albert Blackie found a stoppage time equaliser as we would only take one point back to Manchester and make a dent in our title hopes.
