Winger Carlos Borges has expressed his desire to play in the final of this season’s UEFA Youth League.

City sit top of Group G on 10 points from four games and can secure qualification to the knockout stages with a win over Borussia Dortmund in Germany on Tuesday afternoon.

Borges has been in sensational form for the EDS side since making the step up from the Under-18s at the start of the new league season, and has gone on to score 11 goals in 14 games across all competitions.

And the youngster has his sights set on making the final of the Youth League as well as turning out for Pep Guardiola’s first team between now and the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

“One of my targets is just to keep going, hopefully carrying on this way to try and push and make my debut for the first team and to get to the final of the UEFA Youth League,” he said.

“If we carry on the way that we have been I think we can do that.

“I am delighted with my form but I couldn’t have done that without the lads, so it is credit to them really, I just have to keep going as I have been doing.

“I put it [the form] down to hard work and the motivations that keep me going, I do it for my family and like I said, I just have to keep it going, help the team out because that is the most important thing.”
