It proved a frustrating evening as Oliver Reiss’s side went down to defeat at Stamford Bridge in the showpiece event.
The City youngsters were seeking to round off a superb campaign that had seen us already lift the Under-18 Premier League North crown along with the FA Youth Cup.
However, Chelsea delivered a two-goal salvo inside the opening 10 minutes through Chizaram Ezenwata and Mathis Eboue.
Though Ryan McAidoo narrowed the deficit with a wonderful 18th minute effort, Chelsea extended their advantage shortly before half-time through Ryan Kavuma-McQueen.
And though City pushed hard after the break to try and summon up a response, further goals in injury time from Sol Gordon and Kavuma-McQueen meant it was the hosts who took the title.
