Under-18s winger Christian Dunbar-McDonald says he's delighted to be back at such a vital time in City's race for the Under-18 Premier League North title.

The 18-year-old has been unavailable for the past two months due to an injury.

And after playing a handful of minutes in City’s FA Youth Cup semi-final triumph over Blackburn Rovers last week, Dunbar-McDonald made his full return on Tuesday afternoon, scoring City’s second of the afternoon in a 4-1 win over Sunderland.

It’s a win that means we return to the top of the table on goal difference and a game in hand over title rivals Manchester United who are also on 50 points.

And for Dunbar-McDonald, it was a fantastic return from the sideline and at the perfect time as he now looks to help the team chase for silverware.

“I think it was top,” said Dunbar-McDonald on his return to action.

“I’ve been out for two months so finally good to get my first start back and happy that it came with a goal.

“I feel like I can help the team, contribute to goals, contribute to assists. Obviously getting those will help change the scoreline. So I feel like the business end of the season I’m happy to be back for.”
