Ben Wilkinson’s Under-21s beat Leeds United 3-0 at the Joie Stadium on Saturday evening, seeing the squad get back to positive results following our midweek exit from the UEFA Youth League.
Full-back McFarlane opened up the scoring, bagging his first Premier League 2 goal from close range on 18 minutes.
A second half brace from Matty Warhurst put City firmly in the driving seat against a difficult Leeds side.
And for McFarlane and the team, it was a nice feeling to get back to winning ways.
“I feel amazing, it’s good always to get a win, especially a clean sheet,” began the 19-year-old.
“It’s been hard the last couple of games, always conceding early and easy chances so yeah it was good to get a clean sheet today.
“It was a good one to be honest [the goal].
“Kian saw me make the run and I seen I could play it through his legs so it was a good one.”
