Scotland Under-21 international Slicker says the EDS are looking to end the campaign by maintaining the blistering PL2 form that has seen Brian Barry-Murphy’s side win seven of their last eight matches.

“We’re all excited – we’ve done well in the early part of the season and got ourselves into a good position with a good run of results this year,” said Slicker.

“We’ve really pushed on since New Year. We’re just focusing on the next game and not worrying too much about the game before.

“Everyone’s gelled together now and knows what each other can do and that’s helped a lot.”

City’s next game is on Sunday early evening and will be played at the Etihad Stadium.

The match, which will be screened live on CITY+, is likely to be the highlight of the campaign for the EDS youngsters, as Slicker explains: “The next one is a big one against Liverpool and playing at the Etihad will be a great experience for us all and all the boys are really looking forward to it.

“It’s a great opportunity for us all and hopefully there will be a decent turnout there to watch us as well.”

And the teenage keeper also praised the impact James McAtee has had during his superb campaign in the PL2.

McAtee has bagged 21 goals in 22 games for the EDS, as well as creating seven goals for his team-mates and has enjoyed a stellar campaign.

“He is flying and you don’t see midfielders get that many goals and I think he’s after one or two records now,” said Slicker.

“He’s scoring, getting assists and controlling the games as well as playing for the first team and making his Champions League – he’s been amazing.”
