Our third round clash, the start of the 2024/25 journey to defend our FA Youth Cup title, began by welcoming the Eagles to the Joie Stadium for a night of football under the lights.
An intense first half saw both goalkeepers tested but neither side able to break the deadlock. However, City looked the brighter side with Palace happy to sit back and look to score on the counter.
That narrative continued in the second half as City continued to pile on the pressure.
And it took a moment of magic from our substitutes to finally break through the Eagles defence.

Dante Headley found Dan Batty in a pocket of space in the opposition’s box. His half turn gave him space to shoot and the effort snuck under the Palace ‘keeper to put City ahead with eight minutes left to play.
The midfielder celebrated emphatically with his team-mates as City advanced to the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup.
