The Blues secured another three points as we branch one step closer to confirming a play-off spot. It was our fourth successive win in the Premier League 2, meaning we currently sit in 7th place.
Mamad Sangare got us off the mark early on as the Frenchman scored within three minutes. After dancing his way into the box, the final product saw a left footed shot curl into the bottom left corner.
MATCH REPORT | CITY 3-0 FOREST
Just before the break, Ryan McAidoo doubled our advantage after his blistering pace and immense physicality gave him the platform to smash his effort into the roof of the net, leaving the keeper stumped.
22 seconds into the second half, Sverre Nypan scored our third after McAidoo’s dazzling run and perfectly weighted pass set up the Norwegian midfielder for a routine finish.
Our young boys in blue then cruised to victory as we limited Forest’s threat and still had opportunities ourselves. Sangare hit the post after a deflected effort and McAidoo came close to his second, but his shot flashed over the bar.
Those invaluable three points cemented our fifth win in six, another clean sheet and we made our average goals per game for the season three, the highest in the PL2.
