Ben Wilkinson’s side took centre stage at the Joie Stadium for the final time in 2025 as we prepared to take on Real Madrid for a second time in six days.
Unlike the other fixture, however, which saw our Under-19s win 4-0, Real Madrid took the lead after just three minutes.

Cesar Palacios put the visitors ahead with a composed finish.
But City weren’t fazed, and Emilio Lawrence drew us level just before the half-hour mark with a low-driven finish from the left.
Pol Fortuny was shown a straight red card for spitting partway through the second half, leaving 10-man Real Madrid with work to do against an energetic City side.
And both teams had chances in the final stages, but neither could find the decisive strike to earn more than a share of the spoils.
