After 35 minutes of testing Blackburn’s defensive capabilities, Matty Warhurst finally broke the deadlock to give City the lead with a sublime headed goal.
But it was in the second half where the flood gates opened for City with Ben Wilkinson‘s side dominating the opposition’s box for the majority of the game.
Alfie Harrison doubled City’s lead before scoring two more to get an impressive hat-trick in the opening day of the 2023/24 campaign.
His trio of goals was separated by captain Jaden Heskey and Ashton Muir also adding their names to the score sheet following key performances by both.
