City’s Under-18s began our defence of the FA Youth Cup in formidable fashion with an impressive 6-1 third round win over Birmingham City.
Carlos Vicens’ youngsters, who lifted the trophy last November, go off to a flying start at the Academy Stadium thanks to a first-half brace from Liam Delap, including a superb back-heeled effort, with Oscar Bobb also on target.
City maintained our dominance after the break, with further goals coming from skipper CJ Egan-Riley, James McAtee and Alex Robertson.
It was the perfect way to kick-off our 2020/21 campaign and our reward is a fourth-round assignment at home to either Everton or Wigan Athletic.
