It was an impressive opening 45 minutes for Ben Wilkinson‘s side who dominated possession with a flurry of chances that were unfortunate not to be converted with Justin Oboavwoduo and Emilio Lawrence going close before the interval.
City continued to look the stronger side but 15 minutes of free-flowing football for Spurs allowed them to capitalise on a rare opportunity.
Tyrese Hall converted for the visitors in the 61st minute which deflated the crowd at the Joie Stadium but not the City players.
The youngsters continued to fight and their hard work was rewarded after substitute Luca Fletcher scored a rebound at the far post with four minutes left to play.
Then up stepped Jacob Wright for a free-kick City were awarded from 20 yards out. The number six placed a curling right-footed effort against the inside of the right post and it rippled the back of the Spurs net to send City into a frenzy of celebrations on the brink of full-time.
