City Under-18s' midfielder Divine Mukasa emphasises the importance of not getting complacent following our back-to-back league wins.

A 4-0 win and 6-0 victory against Everton and Nottingham Forest respectively saw City solidify our place in the top five of the Under-18 Premier League North after four games of the 2023/24 season.

And in the latest triumph on home soil, Mukasa was one of the shining stars as he picked up two goals. His first, in the opening 45 minutes and City’s third of the game, was a low left-footed effort which he placed perfectly in the opposite corner.

His second came in the closing stages of the match and from the penalty spot. A cheeky chip down the centre of the goal from the spot was our sixth and final strike in what was an impressive and clinical performance by the City youngsters.

And following the successive wins, Mukasa highlighted the importance of staying focussed in order to keep our momentum when we travel to Sunderland in two weeks.

“I’m not too sure what to expect from Sunderland to be honest,” began Mukasa.

“I think they were one of our first losses last year so we can’t get complacent, especially after these two wins. We have to treat it [Sunderland] like any other game.”
