Divine Mukasa says City’s Elite Development Squad are hungry to take the momentum of Wednesday’s fine 3-1 win over RB Leipzig into next week’s Premier League International Cup group finale at home to Monaco.

Mukasa skippered the City Under-21s and capped a fine all-round display at the Joie Stadium by scoring two first half goals to help Ben Wilkinson’s side see off the challenge of the Germans.

The victory moved the City youngsters up into third place in Group A and means a positive win next week at home to Monaco should see us through into the knockout stages.

And for Mukasa, the message is simple looking ahead to that Monaco clash.

“It was a good game and we’re happy to come out with the win and we’ve just got to go on to the next game now,” Mukasa said.

“We’ve got to continue our momentum in this competition and look to get the win next week.

“We could have maybe controlled the game a little bit better but getting the win was the most important thing.”
