Our opening group game in the Premier League International Cup was an intense one.
Lawrence put City ahead on 34 minutes before an own-goal, forced by Dele Thomas, draw the visitors level.
Thomas then fired PSV ahead, leaving City frustrated to have not taken earlier opportunities.
But, as pointed out by Lawrence, the team remained focused and managed to snatch a late equaliser through substitute Reigan Heskey.
And the result will act as a motivator heading into our next game when we travel to Sunderland in the Premier League.
“I think we definitely should have come away with more than we [what we] did but I think we did well to get that [a draw] at the end,” said Lawrence.
“Not giving up, keeping on going until the end [was good]. We did end up getting one [goal] but I feel like we should have done better tonight.
“I think just getting back together [as a team and] go again next week strong.
“[And] Be more clinical in front of goal. I feel like we missed too many chances tonight, so we’ll have to make sure we won’t do that in the next one.”
