The visitors continued to put pressure on Forest and midway through the second-half, Matty Warhurst guided a shot from a Christian Dunbar-McDonald cross to increase the scoreline.
Heskey secured his brace in added time and scored his 15th goal of the campaign as he brought the ball inside before unleashing a curling effort to cap off the scoring.
City’s victory sees us move five points clear of Manchester United at the top of the table, who have a game in hand.
