Elite Development Squad star Farid Alfa-Ruprecht says the prospect of City testing ourselves against the best of the continent is one to savour as the UEFA Youth League gets underway.

City’s Under-19s begin our UEFA Youth League campaign on Wednesday with a home tie against Internazionale of Milan at the Joie Stadium.

It’s a game that CITY+ subscribers will be able to watch live with the action set to get underway at 3pm (UK time).

And, for his part, winger Alfa-Ruprecht says the chance to test himself against the finest young talent in Europe is the ultimate challenge.

“I’m really excited. The UEFA Youth League always a good competition to play in and we are really looking forward to playing Inter Milan,” he said.

“Many people watch the games and it’s a competition you want to do well in.

“It’s a really good feeling to travel around to see different cities and different cultures. It’s great to see different parts of the world and play the best teams overseas.

“I’m just looking to play my part, to try and help the team, assist and look to improve this year.

“We want to go as far as possible and go further than last season.

“To win the competition is the main goal but first is to try to come through the group stage as we did last year.”
