Jahmai Simpson-Pusey says City’s 4-0 FA Youth Cup win over Leeds United at the Etihad on Friday evening is a moment he’ll always remember.

The defender captained the side to the Club’s fourth win in the competition and it’s the first time we’ve done so with a clean sheet.

And it’s an occasion Simpson-Pusey will hold close to his heart.

“It’s surreal. Surreal playing in the Etihad, winning, a big 4-0, definitely one to remember,” said Simpson-Pusey beaming ear to ear.

“I’m lost for words. It’s a real pleasure to win it. I’m so happy for the boys. We put a good performance out there and everyone is happy.”

An even greater honour than winning the prestigious competition is getting to captain the side to the trophy lift.

And Simpson-Pusey admitted it wasn’t something he was aware of until he arrived at the Etihad on Friday evening.

“I found out as I walked into the changing room,” explained Simpson-Pusey when asked if he knew he was going to lead the team out.

“I seen the armband on my shirt and I was shocked, not shocked but happy. I don’t even know what to say right now, I’m shocked.”
