The Rams ran into a two goal lead through Owen Eames and a thunderous strike from Demaine Agustien, before Finlay Gorman tapped in to reduce the deficit.
In a second-half fightback, substitute Ryan McAidoo fired City level before Matty Warhurst poked in our third to put us ahead for the first time in the match.
Tristan Gill managed to squeeze the ball in from a corner to dampen City hearts, but Warhurst grabbed the vital winning goal in added time to hand us the Under-18 Premier League North title.
And after the celebrations, Braithwaite praised his teammates.
“I’m lost for words,” the City Under-18s captain began.
“I think the team showed great character from the start of the game, we always thought we could win and to do it in that fashion is just unbelievable.
“We stuck together as a team, communication now is a big one, and our intensity from the first whistle was unbelievable and in the second-half they couldn’t handle us.
“We know the season’s not finished, we have one more big game [FA Youth Cup final] and Newcastle after that so we need to keep pushing.
“So celebrate now, then focus on the next couple of games.”
