City Under-18s defender Kian Noble says there is a real appetite to win and improve in Oliver Reiss’s team.

The Academy team beat Liverpool in a tense 3-1 victory on Saturday which saw us move into second of the Under-18 Premier League North.

And his second start of the 2024/25 season also saw Noble score in our win over the Reds, his first goal for the Under-18s in an impressive performance from the Academy youngster.

The centre-back has just returned to the fold of the matchday squad following an injury he picked up over the summer.

Now back training with the team and building on his match minutes, Noble identified the hunger of the team to be an impressive factor in the young side that is continuously pushing each other.

“I think the most impressive thing is the appetite from all of us to work hard every day,” said Noble.

“But that’s drilled in from the coaches as well. They’ve been class with me. I’ve learnt so much in such a short time and it’s the principles of what we have and we stick to them.

“It’s been a tough couple of months for me. It’s been hard to get back fit and get playing so it’s been a great experience for me and now it’s about pushing on and getting more minutes, playing a full 90 and keeping on going.”
