Kylan Midwood said City need to take the momentum from our 5-3 victory over Derby into our final two Under-18 Premier League North games.

The 18-year-old has scored seven goals in four successive Under-18 Premier League North outings for Oliver Reiss’ side after recording a hat-trick against Derby County at the City Football Academy.

Midwood opened the scoring after 19 minutes with Teddie Lamb and Xavier Parker also getting in on the action.

A penalty scored by Israel Green saw Derby claw their way back into the game, but City responded with two more goals for Midwood to complete his trio of goals in the unusual Manchester sun.

MATCH REPORT | CITY 5-3 derby

The triumph sees City be named as Under-18 Premier League North winners and the young forward explained how his side have to use this momentum to finish the 2025/26 season in the best way possible.

“I’m buzzing,” Midwood said.

“Especially to win it two years on the bounce, but I think this season is more special because I’ve made more of an impact and played more minutes.

“I think it was a different game, not as we expected. It was tough and very end-to-end, but at the end of the day we got the three points and won the league.

“I think it’s important that we keep this momentum going into the last two games even though we’ve won the league just to show everyone that we’re the best team and we don’t let it slip.”
