Ben Wilkinson hailed a ‘professional’ performance after City overcame Oxford 3-0 to seal an FA Youth Cup semi-final berth against Arsenal.

A second half brace from Will Dickson allied to a first half strike from Justin Oboavwoduo ensured the City youngsters overcame the challenge of a dogged Us.

Our reward is a last four trip to Arsenal and as he looked ahead to the prospect of tackling the Gunners at the Emirates, the City head coach said it was a challenge that epitomised the FA Youth Cup.

“It’s exactly what this competition is all about. It’s a game we can now get excited about,” said Wilkinson.

“Two really good young teams with some excellent talent and in a proper arena.

“It’s something to really look forward to.

“I thought it was a professional performance. Decent result, decent performance and we are delighted to be in the semi-finals.”
