City's Elite Development Squad got our Papa John’s Trophy campaign off to a superb start with a fine 3-0 win at Scunthorpe United in Tuesday’s Group E opener.
Brian Barry-Murphy’s side were in fine form at the Sands Venue Stadium with goals from Cole Palmer and Luke Bolton firing us into a 2-0 half-time lead.
A late third strike from James McAtee then rounded off an excellent night’s work in North Lincolnshire.
It was also the perfect way to prepare ahead of Saturday’s eagerly-awaited PL2 derby away at Manchester United!
