MATCH REPORT | CITY 3-3 SOUTHAMPTON
City’s number nine scored our first of the evening to draw us level. He tapped home Emilio Lawrence’s cross, an all-too familiar finish from the local lad who has showcased his goalscoring abilities across his three seasons representing the Academy at Under-18s and EDS level.
And for the 19-year-old, it was a nice moment to be back from injury and playing a key role in City’s team.
“Yeah it’s a good feeling, it’s what I love doing,” said Warhurst.
“Especially as a striker, that’s considered your job, so good to get on the scoresheet.
“He asked me to give it my best of the ball and with the ball. And I tried to do that. Obviously I’ve not put in a full game in a while so I got a bit tired but glad I got through it.
“I want to be consistent and try and play as many games as possible in all the different competitions so I’m going to train hard and do everything I can.”
