Despite going into the break all square, City put on a dominating performance at Kingsmeadow to progress to the quarter-finals.
After an intense opening 45 minutes, Floyd Samba’s strike gave Oliver Reiss’ side the lead just moments into the second half.
Dante Headley’s deflected effort from range soared towards the top-left corner to double our lead just after the hour mark.
Xavier Parker then bagged City’s third, his second goal in two FA Youth Cup games, as our young boys in blue continued to go from strength to strength.
Ryan McAidoo rounded off the scoring after an error at the back for Chelsea saw him convert in an empty net.
Speaking after the game, Reiss discussed his pride of the players and what he said at half-time to spark a flurry of goals.
“We had the desire to defend and to create an atmosphere from the first minute,” began the Lead Coach.
“I’m just proud of the guys, the way they played and the way they fought.
“We know how good our players are and the potential of them, but its not enough to just have 11 good players on the pitch.
“We need to be connected, have good communication, support each other and to just have the same energy at the same time and the same idea of playing football.”
