Dan Batty’s late close-range strike was the decisive factor in our 1-0 triumph in the third round of the prestigious competition.
Palace proved to be an organised side and with City also battling the elements, our Academy youngsters remained composed and patiently waited for the right moment to strike.
And perhaps that moment made the result that little bit sweeter for Reiss in his first FA Youth Cup win since joining the Club in the summer.
MATCH REPORT | CITY 1-0 CRYSTAL PALACE
“Of course we are very very happy with this win,” began Reiss.
“I think we deserved it at the end. We had a lot of phases in the game with good possession and good control of the game.
“Yes we know that in the beginning of the first half and also in the beginning of the second half we struggled a little bit.
“They were more aggressive in these phases of the game but they also defended well. But I think at the end because of the amount of chances we had I think it was a good win and well deserved win.”
