Lead coach Oliver Reiss hailed the way his City Under-18s raced out of the blocks on the way to securing a fine 5-0 win over Blackburn in our latest Under-18 Premier League North clash.

The Academy youngsters got off to the perfect start at the CFA, scoring twice inside the first 10 minutes to take a firm grip on the game.

Three further goals arrived after the break as City made it four wins in a row in the league to move up into third place in the table.

Reflecting on the display, Reiss said the way his players set about their task straight from kick-off was just what he wanted to see.

“I was very happy with the result and the way we played – especially the way we started,” the lead coach asserted.

“You could see that the team was ready from early on and we scored two early goals.

“I also saw some things we could improve later on but we changed things in the second half to make it better.

“But overall I’m very happy.”
