Xavier Parker started up front for City at the age of 15 while 16-year-old Karim Cassim came on for his first taste of Under-18 Premier League North action from the bench.
With fellow 16-year-old goalkeeper Ben Vickery saving a late penalty, it only served to further illustrate the huge pool of promising young players at the CFA.
And for Reiss there was huge satisfaction is seeing the youngsters thrive in such a competitive environment.
“We are so happy to have so many young potential players in our Academy,” Reiss reflected.
“And we are really happy that we have the opportunity to bring more and more young players onto the pitch
“It’s great to see them playing now and proof again for the work and the quality we have.
“Newcastle was a strong opponent and at the end we are very happy with this win against a strong opponent.”
