It was our 10th successive Under-18 Premier League North triumph thanks to the hard work of his players and coaching staff who help prepare the squad each week.
Reigan Heskey’s first half brace along with strikes from Dante Headley and Matty Warhurst meant George Morgan’s late penalty was merely a consolation after both teams braved the cold weather.
Not only was the result positive, but it was also great to see the return of Rhys Thomas and Harrison Parker as almost all of Reiss’s squad returns to be at his disposal.
And the healthy competition for places is what is driving the players to perform so well.

“First of all we are very happy to have all of, nearly all of, our players back so today with Harrison [Parker] and Rhys [Thomas] their first minutes after a very long injury time,” said Reiss.
“So we have a lot of players, a lot of outfield players so it’s a big challenge for us as coaches to give enough minutes to develop every player of course.
“But they have to compete for their position. It’s not just 11 [players]. So that’s what we need so we can mitigate the players.
“And we also get 100% motivation because they have to fight for their position. So it’s good to have a lot of players in the squad for the future, we need all of them.”
