The win on home soil has moved our young boys in blue one step closer to the North title with just two games left in our fight against our rivals Manchester United.
Goals from Finlay Gorman, Matty Warhurst, Ryan McAidoo and Reigan Heskey extended City’s winning run to 20 successive matches, a run of form which began in September.
And whilst Reiss provided a positive reflection on our latest victory, he was quick to insist on a quick mentality shift as we now prepare to welcome third-place Derby to the City Football Academy next weekend.
“We are very happy about this [20-game winning run] and the game today,” began Reiss.
“It’s a great achievement of course but we are looking forward with another two games to go now.
“[We have] tough games in Newcastle and at home against Derby so yes on the one side happy about this [result against Boro] but on the other side we are looking forward and we are aware of our big games in the last three or four weeks.
“At the moment I’m just thinking about Derby. So I’m excited about this game and I’m looking forward to having this game because they are the games I enjoy a lot.
“So again it’s just always the next game is the most important game but yes with one eye a little bit looking to the final against Aston Villa in the FA Youth Cup.”
