Under-18s Lead Coach Oliver Reiss says there is no time for his team to rest as we continue to fight to retain the Under-18 Premier League North title.

Our Under-18s returned to the top of the table on Tuesday afternoon following a 4-1 win over Sunderland.

Goals from Teddie Lamb, Christian Dunbar-McDonald, Dante Headley and Kylan Midwood were too much for Lewis Campbell’s consolation as City go level on points with second-place Manchester United with 50 after 21 games.

City have one game in hand over our title rivals with five league games and one FA Youth Cup final left to play before the end of the 2025/26 season.

Which means for Reiss’ team, his squad can not relax in the final weeks of the campaign.

“We will start the preparation for Nottingham Forest on Thursday,” began Reiss.

“There will be again some changes to the starting 11 to give some chances to other players and also some coming back.

“I think when we take the Friday game [FA Youth Cup semi-final win] and today the game, everyone especially now at the end of the season should be aware that there is no time to rest, no time to relax.

“And this is good when we have most of the players available to have this competition within our team, fighting for places in the final and for the last games. So everyone should be aware and switched on to give their best in terms of their performance to make it even harder for me.

“And this should give us enough energy hopefully for the last games.”
