The young Blues have turned around three games in all competitions this season, showcasing the top mentality that City’s Academy have.
Oliver Reiss’ side went 2-0 down in the Manchester derby before coming back on top as eventual 4-2 winners to claim the bragging rights.
Elsewhere, we also saw a 7-3 comeback against Blackburn Rovers and last time out in the Premier League Cup we were 3-0 down to Crystal Palace but finished the game 3-3.
And that mentality was seen again in City’s fantastic comeback victory over Chelsea on Saturday.
MATCH REPORT | CITY 3-2 CHELSEA
Goals from Teddie Lamb, Floyd Samba and his brother Tyrone Samba saw us move second in Group D in the Premier League Cup.
“Especially for a youth team and especially for us normally with a lot of possession, you have to accept a little bit that they are more on the ball maybe, it’s not easy but we did it and maybe one of the reasons why we won this game in the end,” said Reiss.
“In the last few games very often we were down. That’s not our idea, that’s not our plan A, but we are maybe comfortable in situations like this.
“We are not forcing out the game, we stay calm and we know how good we can be when we come back into a game, so of course in terms of the mentality of the team, maybe it was good that we were in situations like this in the last few weeks.
“Now we are ready for the difference in areas which can happen in a game.”
