After title rivals Manchester United drew 4-4 with Everton, a win on home soil would see City lift the North trophy with one league game left to play.
But, our Under-18s found themselves in unfamiliar territory on 39 minutes, trailing 2-0.
Our young boys in blue, however, showed grit and determination to pull off a thrilling added time victory, courtesy of Matty Warhurst’s last-gasp winner.
And it’s fair to say Reiss, in his first season coaching at the Club, enjoyed the title winning moment just as much as his players.
“I’m very thankful for this performance from the team and also my staff. I think we did a great job and especially the players today did a very great job,” said Reiss.
“I said to them after 45 minutes I was proud of them because we were 2-0 down and we were not in this situation so often this season. And sometimes it’s not easy to deal with this.
“But they came back still even in the first half and increased the energy and so on. So the way they did it today and of course you can not write it better in a Hollywood movie.
“So the game was incredible and I am of course just happy!”
