Reigan Heskey says he just wanted to make an impact from the bench following his first Premier League 2 hat-trick against Norwich on Friday evening.

The 16-year-old needed just 22 minutes after joining the fold at half-time to make his mark on the match. The score was 1-0 at the break after Emilio Lawrence fired City ahead after 11 minutes.

And Will Dickson completed the scoring in City’s 5-0 league triumph over the Canaries, a seventh successive win for Ben Wilkinson’s side.

And Heskey was just happy to have had a positive impact on the win that keeps City’s Elite Development Squad top of the Premier League 2 table.

“It was a good performance,” said Heskey with a bright smile.

“I came on and made an impact which is what I try to do every time so it was a good performance.

“Every team wants to be top [of the table], you want to win every game week in, week out.

“The pressure of having them [other teams] behind us gives us motivation to play well every week.”
