Oliver Reiss’ youngsters staged a dramatic late fightback from being 1-0 down at the Joie Stadium, netting three times in the final 10 minutes to secure our place in the fourth round.
Winger McAidoo struck City’s crucial second goal on 87 minutes, despatching a superb near post effort to fire the Blues’ youngsters ahead.
And reflecting on the victory, he said the belief and desire within the group never once diminished.
“It was a great result and the boys stuck together - even when we went 1-0 down,” McAidoo reflected.
“The energy levels actually went up – we persevered and got the result in the end.
“We were clever with our passes and moved them side to which tired them out, and it opened up for us.
“[In terms of my goal] during the pre-match huddle Max Hudson was telling me to shoot near post. I listened to him and got the reward!”
