Ben Knight and Sam Edozie scored a brace apiece as Enzo Maresca’s side produced a superb performance to qualify for the knockout stages of the competition.
Knight opened the scoring when he raced clear of the Scunthorpe defence to finish off a slick passing move and Edozie made it two with a simple six-yard finish after good work from right-back Alpha Diounkou.
Both players reserved their best for their respective second goals.
Knight executed a fine 20-yard chip to make it 3-0 and Edozie wrapped up the victory in equally impressive fashion when he cut inside off the left flank and curled a superb effort into the far corner.
City face Lincoln City away in the final group stage game on Tuesday 17 November, with kick-off at 19:00 (UK).
