City's Elite Development Squad returned to winning ways on Friday afternoon with an eye-catching 6-1 win at Stoke.

After back-to-back defeats in the league and Premier League International Cup, Ben Wilkinson’s youngsters earned three vital points in the Premier League 2 following a fantastic outing in the East Midlands. 

Matty Warhurst got the scoring started with a tap-in at the back post. And just before the break, Floyd Samba scored his first PL2 goal with a first-time finish from the left.

Stoke halved the deficit in the second half through substitute Tyler Martin. 

But our young boys in blue were un-phased and quickly broke away with a flurry of late goals. 

Within three minutes F. Samba completed his hat-trick with two composed strikes in what was a fantastic performance by the 17-year-old. 

Ashton Muir and Warhurst completed the scoring in an important win that has seen City climb to eighth in the league table.
