It seems City like to beat Stoke 3-1!
A home triumph courtesy of a first half Matty Warhurst hat-trick gave City our first win of 2024.
And it was clear Ben Wilkinson‘s side were looking to emulate the result with the trip to Stoke the final game before City’s FA Youth Cup final tie with Leeds United.
It took City a little longer to break Stoke down away from home but it came in the form of a composed Charlie Gray strike on his return from injury.
A Jaden Mears own goal a minute into the second half put City firmly in the driving seat before substitute Jaden Heskey added a third.
City’s near perfect game was almost secured but Wilkinson’s youngsters were denied a clean sheet in the 88th minute after Stoke captain Will Smith bagged a consolation.
