City Under-18s striker Teddie Lamb says he is thrilled to be back in action, marking his first start back from injury with a hat-trick.

The 16-year-old opened up the scoring in City’s clinical 7-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday afternoon.

He was joined on the scoresheet by Dante Headley and Dexter Oliver (two) before finding his second of the match to make it five up before half-time.

And then he needed less than two minutes of the second half to complete his hat-trick, his second of the season, converting from the penalty spot after Karim Cassim was fouled.

After full-time the number nine expressed his delight in being back out on the pitch and also getting to do what he loves, score goals.

“It was good [being back]. Obviously I was injured at the start of the year so yeah nice to get back out there doing what I love doing, scoring goals,” began Lamb.

“Yeah I’ve done it once [hat-trick] once this season but I forgot to take the ball home.

“So I’m definitely bringing it with me tonight!

“So it’s good to be back in the rhythm of things and scoring goals like I said, it keeps me motivated to do more.”
