Tommy Doyle says he delighted to have won the FA Youth Cup, a victory he has described as "massive".

It was the third time in our history we have lifted the coveted youth prize - but it was our first success in 12 years.

Having lost four of the last five Youth Cup finals, Doyle says this is a hugely significant moment for everyone at the Club.

“Everyone is so happy, especially after disappointment of last year,” he said. “To come here on a tough night in tough conditions and play a good Chelsea side, to get the win is massive for us.

“Credit to Chelsea they fought well tonight but thankfully we got the better of them.

“It’s always difficult going behind in these games, but this being my last year in Youth Cup I had to try and use my experience to help the lads. To win the trophy is massive.

“Everyone’s goal here, especially mine, is to play for Man City, the first team. So being in and around it is a massive thing, especially for me supporting the club. But tonight, this is massive. We’ve not won it for so long. It’s so important.

“Focused on tomorrow’s game – the first team have a Champions League game – but tonight the staff, the team and everyone at the club will be happy. We’re gonna celebrate well.”
