Brian Barry-Murphy is expecting two pivotal games when his EDS side take on FC Copenhagen in the UEFA Youth League.

The first of the back-to-back matches with the Danes takes place at the Academy Stadium later today.

And with both City and Copenhagen talking maximum points from the first two games, Barry-Murphy is expecting two difficult matches.

“There’s just a sense of excitement about who we’re going to face,” said Barry-Murphy.

“Last season, we faced some very difficult opponents and Copenhagen - without exaggeration - are probably the favourites for the group with the calibre of team they have and their experience.

“I think we’ll be facing a team who are lot bigger than us physically, but the challenge is very exciting for us.”

And with comeback wins over Sevilla and a dramatic win over Dortmund in mind, the EDS boss believes his players are capable of anything.

“I’m over the moon (with their performances so far) - I think the win away to Sevilla was different from the home win over Dortmund because of the way the game went,” he said.

“Sevilla were a difficult side in their own right, but against Dortmund we think we could have done things better - but for the lads to keep going to the end the way they did, is testament to their character and how well we want to do in this competition.

“We’ll be looking to reproduce those traits again on Wednesday in what is sure to be a very testing encounter.”
