But he had no time to dwell on the defeat as he flew straight from London to Dallas, Texas to meet up with Donovan ‘Tekkz’ Hunt who was also competing at Dreamhack Dallas.
Both were hoping to qualify for the Esports World Cup on the first time of asking.
Tekkz narrowly missed out on a place in the final 16 but Bonanno was ready to continue competing before stumbling at the quarter-final.
Both had one final chance to qualify for one of the biggest events in the calendar.
