For the first time ever, all of Man City Esports’ Fortnite players competed together in a brand new competitive format. The new competition created for the Esports World Cup event saw teams go head to head in 4v4 in Capture the Flag and Hardpoint game modes.
A solid performance by Setty, Trippern, Threats and Cold saw them cruise past our opponents Outlaws and into the knockouts in our first game.
Up next was tough opponents Team Heretics in the upper bracket. An unfortunate 2-0 loss meant City dropped to the lower bracket but the team remained determined to try and secure our place at the Esports World Cup.
Our next opponent was Twisted Minds in another best of three. In a tight affair, the fantastic four managed to beat Twisted Minds and make it to the final day of matches with a 2-1 win in a best of three.
City’s final opponent was Fnatic. Could City overcome one of the esport scene’s best teams?
