Social Inclusion, Melbourne: I Speak Football
Vote now
Cityzens Giving is back and you have the power to decide how £400,000, donated by City Football Group and its partners, is split between six projects across the world.
Melbourne is a diverse city where 58% of people have one or both parents born overseas.
I Speak Football uses football to bring young people from different communities together to build social connections and reduce isolation.
Young leaders are back for the third year to deliver their social inclusion project that will bring 400 young people together and teach them important life and language skills.
Albert, 23, and other young leaders have worked with over 300 young people in schools and communities over the last two years, teaching them about the importance of respect, friendship and understanding.
“When I look back at where this project started and what we have achieved, I feel really proud,” he said.
“It’s given me a purpose, a set of skills, and most importantly to me, a group of people that I can call my family.”
This project is delivered in partnership with Melbourne City in the Community and Centre for Multi-Cultural Youth.
