Manchester City delivered a big Christmas surprise to a very worthy fan at the City Football Academy recently.

In the run up to the big day, we invited City fan Wesley Ratcliffe, on an Etihad Stadium and Club tour with a twist.

The 36-year-old Seasoncard holder from Wythenshawe works tirelessly in his community, coaching children with disabilities, as well providing round the clock care for his 11-year-old son Harvey, who has a severe learning disability and suffers with seizures.

Having been nominated by his wife as a worthy recipient of a Big City Christmas surprise, Wes was taken on a ‘fake’ tour of the Etihad Stadium and City Football Academy.

Little did he know that at the end of the tour he would be greeted by his team the Benchill Bears, who were training with Claire Emslie and Kiera Walsh.

The day got even better as Wes and the kids visited the first team changing room to discover a brand new Nike football kit, before Emslie and Walsh presented Harvey with a cake to mark his birthday.

Merry Christmas, Wes!
