The Manchester Derby at Old Trafford in 2008 was a special occasion.

It fell on the 50th anniversary of the Munich Air Disaster, an occasion that brought Red and Blue together, uniting a city known for its football rivalry.

These were moving scenes in respect to the 23 - of which eight were players from the Old Trafford club - who died in the Munich air disaster on 6 February 1958.

A beautifully observed minute’s silence kicked off proceedings before City produced a fine display to win the game 2-1, with Darius Vasel and Benjani grabbing the goals for Sven’s men.
