Ash Smith-Brown set off a journey to Holland this summer – and it’s one he continues to relish.
The Manchester City youngster signed on a season-long loan with NAC Breda in order to gain some first-team experience in the Dutch second tier and, so far, it’s been a positive move.
So we decided to go over and see how he was getting on.
“I thought it’d be a good experience to get out the under-21s and get some competitive football,” he said.
“I was nervous but I knew the other boys were coming over.
“The aim was to get a lot of football, develop as much as possible and go back to City next year a better player.”
Smith-Brown explains some of the benefits of playing for NAC.
He says they play the same style of football in the same formation as at City, which helped him adapt quickly and continue to improve his game.
It’s a fascinating insight into City’s agreement with the Dutch side.
