Lee Carsley’s youngsters began their run with a comprehensive 4-0 win at Reading with goals from Brahim Diaz, Phil Foden and a Lukas Nmecha brace.
They followed that with a 3-1 victory over Liverpool thanks to strikes from Tom Dele-Bashiru, Sadou Diallo and Nmecha again.
Another 4-0 triumph came in the fifth round. This time Jadon Sancho, Foden, Nmecha and Demeaco Duhaney saw City past Southampton.
Finally, Matt Smith’s late strike against Aston Villa sealed the final four place after a Sancho equaliser.
