In order to celebrate the Bermudan striker’s birthday, City TV have compiled some of Shaun Goater’s best goals for Manchester City.
Goater became something of a cult hero during his time at Maine Road so why not take a trip down memory lane as he turns 47?
Having joined Joe Royle’s recently relegated City from Bristol City in 1998, Goater hit the ground running. He scored 21 goals as City sealed dramatic promotion back to the second tier of English football.
He didn’t look back from that point, becoming the top scorer again as City achieved consecutive promotions before doing the same in Division One two years later. His final season will be best remembered for his goal against Manchester United in Maine Road’s final Manchester derby, which you can see above.
