Awesome away days, action-packed encounters and an unforgettable moment in time... City’s 2017/18 Champions League adventure so far.

The Blues’ European adventure kicked off in style with an impressive triumph in Rotterdam. John Stones headed Pep Guardiola’s men off the mark after just two minutes before doubling his tally after Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus struck.

That victory was followed by another as City cruised past Shakhtar Donetsk with Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling on the scoresheet.

Then came Napoli to the Etihad Stadium in a hotly-contested and entertaining encounter. Quickfire goals from Sterling and Jesus handed the hosts a 2-0 advantage and they rode out the win, despite Amadou Diawara’s second half penalty. Crucially, Ederson had already denied Dries Mertens from the spot in a famous success.

The return leg heralded even more drama - and a piece of history.

Both sides took the lead but were pegged back before Aguero wrote his name into the City history books (again!) by netting to become the Club’s all-time record goalscorer.

Sterling then added the icing to a delicious cake with a goal in injury time.

Qualification and top spot in Group F were secured with a 1-0 victory over Feyenoord, courtesy of another late Sterling strike and with progression wrapped up, City headed to Ukraine to complete the group stage.
